One of the best gyros I have ever had. Recently reopened, they serve a variety of gyros, including the Uper Gyro (Extra Meat!) Delicious, fast, and affordable.

I'm really not someone who's big on gyros but I went with my boyfriend because he was craving one. As someone who's not into gyros, I really enjoyed the one I had. It wasn't greasy like the few gyros I have had in the past and sauce added to the taste as well. I would definitely get it again. With the new funding/management, you can tell some positive changes has been made. I walked in and felt like the place was cleaner looking than the last time I went. I attribute a lot of this to a new paint job and improved environment. El Greco's seemed to have a good lunch rush--the most busiest I've seen it. The food took over 20 minutes but it's evident the ktichen staff were working hard so I didn't entirely mind. I'm glad a local business in Carbondale is prospering despite the odds. I recommend the Carbondale community should support this business over corporate stores in the area. The food is fresh and there really isn't another place like this in southern Illinois.

The night crew is amazing! They’re very helpful and very kind!

This has been a Carbondale staple for decades feeding locals and students with a great menu at a value price. The centerpiece of the menu, the gyro is one of the best recipes around and it only gets better with a side of their signature fried mushrooms. Get it while you can, this institution comes to a close Dec 23, 2017.
