It took forever to be seated. They were out of mushrooms for one of their featured burgers. They tried to give us old, brown guacamole. They had to redo our bill twice. The waiters could have been more attentive. Overall, the food was okay, though, and prices are always pretty good. Maybe the day shift is better.

One of my favorite parts of revisiting central Illinois where I grew up is going to Steak 'n Shake. (Alas, there are none in New Mexico.) But the meat was just a little off -- not spoiled, just not up to the flavorful standards I usually get at other Steak 'n Shakes. The vanilla milkshake, however, was just as much of a treat as I remember.

Normally my experiences here are very pleasant however today that was not the case. I came in around 8pm after a long day at work wanting to sit and relax and have a milkshake to wind down the evening. After being seated I tell the waitress I just want a regular milkshake and no food today. After waiting 30 minutes for said shake its brought out in a to go cup with Carmel sauce slipped down the side of the cup. I did not ask for it to be in a to go cup because I was dining in and to go cups are smaller than the glasses that are used when dining in. If I were looking for this kind of sloppy service id have come through drive thru.

Great place if you have coupons. Reasonably priced, with great juciy beef patties. The fries are bad though.

It is ridiculous how I am sitting in the drive thru at this very moment where I have been for the past 15 min waiting after the person on the speaker told me to look over the menu and they will get to me as soon as they can. I could have rewritten the menu and made my own burger in the time it has taken to not be waited on. This is the trend with this location and this will be the last time I punish myself with this unprofessional establishment.
