The Berghoff is a fine institution. A Chicago classic if you are new or visiting town. Not great prices but in the loop you have to expect that. Try their house beers. Very good. Right by the theatre district so a good stop before or after a show.

Went for food here twice during a weekend visit. First time just alone at the bar for a quick bite and a beer. The brat I ordered came out very fast and the beer selection is above par. I recommend the Berghoff dark, quite tasty. The second time was for dinner with my girlfriend, and we got a few cocktails and split a jagerschnitzel. It was a very big portion and was also quite good. Overall this place has friendly service, good food, and a classic Chicago feel to it. Love the ambiance and decor. Highly recommend visiting.

The Berghoff is a traditional German restaurant in the heart of the Chicago loop. I enjoyed the service and the food was excellent. Portions were so big we didn't have room for dessert. What I saw from other customers, they looked yummy.

The food was pretty good, the service was decent, and the ambiance is pretty nice. I think this place is a little overrated, but I don't necessarily think it is bad. Overall I liked it. It is not a very casual place, so be aware when you go. I recommend the soft pretzels.

We sat at the bar and had Ryan as a bartender. The device was spectacular, he was very friendly and we truly enjoyed every moment of our experience. He gave us several restaurant/entertainment recommendations (because we are from NC), also gave us some menu suggestions. The food was great, ESPECIALLY the stuffed mushrooms 😍😍😍😍 I’d highly recommend this place to anyone in the downtown Chicago area
