This place is crazy during the holiday season. The wait time is pretty long if you're there during Christmas time to see the tree. Food is pretty good may take a while if its during the holiday. Off season is like night and day. Servers are really attentive and food is timely, hot, and delicious. The tree is a sight to see but I reccomend visiting after the holiday rush.

Old school Chicago dining with tasty comfort foods at reasonable prices. Great drink options at the bar. It is very popular during the fall/winter holidays. Good place for single or family dining.

Go here for Christmas every year, but overall it has tanked and extended family agreed to go elsewhere starting next year. The tree is beautiful, the windows are fun, but isn't enough (coming from far suburbs) to make up for the food that seems like was bought at Sam's Club that morning. Scrambled eggs from powder. Bacon clumped and overcooked. Not enough staff for all the customers. Coffee was cold! Took forever to get drinks refilled. Just overall not the same experience it once was.

This place was a pleasant surprise. Simple food selection but the food ended up being very nice. Wine selection was good too. Staff was friendly and easy going. Wood panelling decor was warm and inviting and gave the place an up market feel. Although you could be see the place was not as swanky as it probably was in days of old. All up it was a good experience. Good for families too. No complaints. More like a 3.5 rating.

Should be 5 stars but the wait to get in, slow service and so-so food drag down the rating. Regardless, for the short time we lived in Chicagoland, this was a Christmas tradition for us. It's one of the areas oldest restaurants and is situated in the old Marshall Field building (currently a Macy's). The staff is nice but the crowds make it slow. The ambiance and huge tree brought us back. I'd still recommend going.
