We were there for a Friday fish fry on Good Friday. The Village Tavern in Long Grove has a well known fish fry. It was fried Pollack, Fries and Cole Slaw. All excellent and all you can eat. We got there when they opened at 5p. I would say at 515pm it was packed with people. This is a popular place.

Great time, appetizers and cocktails were fantastic. History of this place and the beautiful bar, cant wait to comeback. Doing a ton of improvements in Long Grove, hopefully it brings in the merchants again.

Do you seek the tasty chicken of the village tavern in carol stream? Well this is not that place, and you will be disappointed. Mix a bad piano bar with an antique shop, and the background noises of a Chuck E. Cheese (including a guy wandering around making balloon animals). The toppings on the “village tavern burger” were as follows: lettuce. Also very inattentive wait staff, and don’t even think about the (dry, over cooked) fish fry.

A real gem. The staff were helpful and friendly. The decor is cozy. I especially appreciated that they seat families with children in the dining room and leave the tables in the bar for the grown ups. I real find in this area that's a real pleasure. The food came out hot and flavorful. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. Added thinly sliced red onion, which they speedily brought out as it was an afterthought when we first ordered. The fish was flakey and juicy and the breading was crispy. The French fries are perfect in my opinion, a cross between steak fries and shoestrings. The bartender filled us in on the history of the place and told us about the AYCE options of Broasted chicken and fish, check the schedule for the days. Will definitely be back.

Amazing fish fry! Come on out with you want a good fish fry with a brandy old fashioned! Super nice bartender as well. Overall, really good experience.
