This is THE BEST diner in Loves Park. Cash only. Menu options are VERY affordable and Pete, the owner, cooks everything right out in the open. He is very friendly and has remembered my name every time I go there even though it is only every couple months. I have brought every one of my family members and friends here. Portions are good sized, get there early for biscuits and gravy as those are limited. And it is always hopping, you might need to wait a few minutes for a seat.

POTATO SHACK is an inspiring revelation of how a restaurant (or any business for that matter) could be run. The enthusiasm, hard work, service and hospitality of the people who work there are UNMATCHED. Excellent food. GREAT ATMOSPHERE. If you’re a grumpy, critical crabass and want to stay that way, this probably isn’t the place for you. You will be uncomfortable in an atmosphere of such great BEAUTY and LOVE. But if you want to be ENERGIZED and INSPIRED...don’t miss it.

Great breakfast and friendly service. Cheep prices but don't tell them that. Don't forget to bring cash. Cash only!

First time here. Great service, great staff, and great food. I will be back ... and with friends! I highly recommend a stop here. It reminds me of the old style family diners.
