Portillo's is the largest hot dog stand I've seen, and I've seen quiet a few. Their Niles location seats 480 with parking to match. Hot dogs very good if you like garlicky kosher. Polish is better and among the best. Italian sausage & beef I rate B, not as good as the top specialists but satisfying if you're in the mood. Hamburgers B-. Decorations are photos, advertising and artifacts from the 1920s and '30s. Artifacts like a 1932 Chevy sedan (Chicago Loop). Music is 1920s and '30s jazz + some Dixieland and New Orleans R&B. Noisy place but you can hear the music. (You can hear it better in the washrooms, which are clean and reasonably spacious.) Service is friendly, also fast except during the lunch rush. Order a salad if they're jammed up, separate line. Great place to take a child or a visitor to the USA.

Family favorite and out of town family loves when we ship them the beef! Best Italian beef in Chicago but has had of days to be honest. Chocolate cake is awesome too. Best cheese fries!! Great place to take big groups has greasy and healthy options.

I would give more stars if I could. Portillo's is the main reason I live in Illinois. Once there are locations near Seattle or Denver, I'll be willing to move. I have yet to try anything on the menu that I don't like and there are at least 3 menu items I crave immensely. It's a Chicagoland staple!

The level of quality food has dropped a bit since being sold. Service has also dropped just a bit but still noticeable. I have noticed the prices listed on some object are not the ones being charged. My chocolate cake shake was listed at 4.25 and rung at 4.59. I have questioned it in the past. Not a good business practice. Overall still pretty good stuff.

I like portilllos always. Every store has good view good and fast employees. Good systematic. I would recommends every portilllos you can go. Edit: I was over there after a while and they have good burger guys. I love it. They are really good on it and the price is understandable.
