This is a nice restaurant to eat at for a group of two or a large group. If you have a large party call ahead. Adult drinks were good. Seafood was very good. Service was helpful and friendly frequently checking on you if you need anything. Handicapped accessible. Parking is free and has handicapped parking . I plan on eating here again next time I'm in the area.

Lunch is usually very fast as it is a buffet line with great food. White table cloth s real China great service. I highly recommend if you are on your way in or out of town and need lunch you won't be dissatisfied. I give the food and service 5 stars it is great. There is a catch...we have made reservations and still ended up waiting too long and NEVER trust the reservation on a holiday. Easter was a nightmare, and we left after the "there is a 2 hour wait" comment. Really? I had reservation for 11:30...... Although there is an all outdoor cedar planned handicap ramp it is steep. Pushing up is work and if it is raining or snowy it's 2 times as hard. So if you are like me and have a people who need the handicap entrance avoid days where weather might make it difficult for both of you. Don't forget to click like if the review helps

I have dinner here with the family quite a bit. Its one of the best local eateries in Springfield. Great value for your buck, especially if you are early enough for their pre-6pm early bird special. The salmon is always a god bet for diner and the service is always great. The only thing I would recommend is the house salads need to be more than just head lettuce.

My fiancé and I ordered crab stuffed shrimp appetizer, catfish entree, lobster shrimp ravioli entree, and key lime pie for dessert for $44. Our entrees came with fresh baked bread (which was delicious) and one big salad for each of us. The crab stuffed shrimp was amazing. The catfish rivalled my parents' home fried catfish. It was served bone-in though which was a little hard to eat. My fiancé loved the ravioli and ate all of it. Our service was great. The restaurant is a beautiful historical setting. Overall this was really great and affordable (especially for seafood) and I would absolutely go here again.

After a longer than expected wait, my wife and I were seated in a room with two fireplaces, harpoons and various large caught fish on the walls. Various eating rooms and the grand room all have a distinct flare of ocean and freshwater fish, steaks, ribs, lobster, crab, shrimp and more. Our waiter, Anthony has a double on the hit series, " Law and Order." He was courteous, friendly, efficient, energetic and laid-back when appropriate. His service was outstanding. The appetizer Shrimp Dejonge (may be misspelled), was fabulous. I had a sirloin and lobster, and both were cooked to perfection. Chesapeake Seafood House is a bit noisy, but this is an old house with tall ceilings that tend to echo acoustics. However, based on the service, food quality and fair prices, one would be hard pressed to find a better seafood restaurant in Central Illinois. It smokes Red Lobster with ease.
