Been here twice before, the first was an hour wait and pleasant surprise with amazing brisket. The second we walked in and got fed under 5 min. Finally tried the burnt ends everyone liked. It’s more fatty than just the brisket but the cooked edges gave me no appeal on either. The meat by itself is very tender and amazing but needs the sauce. I ordered the pit beans and there was more flavor of smoke than anything else and it was so overwhelming we couldn’t eat it. The portion size of meat was very small, probably accurate to a serving size. The ratio of baked beans to meat was probably about 45/55. The server took care of us, he was friendly and didn’t rush anything.

Might be one of the few locals not in love with this place. It's good not great. I judge BBQ on whether or not it needs sauce or can stand on it's own. This definitely needs the sauce of which they have a good selection that are tasty on their own. It's perfectly fine but I've never felt the awe that others do especially for the price. Service is average too.

First ranking the meats: Ribs, a 10. Perfect, and pulled perfectly clean from the bone. Pulled pork, 8.5- just a little on the soft side from maybe a little too long in the steam table, but great smoked flavor. Smoked sausage (grilled) 9, almost perfect... but not quite, but we did come on Saturday evening at nearly 7pm. The Saturday special spicy smoked bacon wrapped meat loaf turns it up to 11. Brisket, 9. Best we've had outside of Texas. The smoked turkey collard greens are excellent- a perfect blend of tangy greens, smoke, and a little spicy pepper. The loaded baked potato casserole is exactly what it sounds like, and quite good. We were dissapointed they didn't have mac&cheese, but the potato dish more than made up for it. The cornbread muffin is fantastic, seriously, it is so much more than a plain old cornbread. The baked beans are awesome, tasting like they were warmed over a campfire. Nice staff. Quick service. Awesome smoked meats. The only sad face here- they don't serve any desserts. We were travelling through so we didn't try any of the many beers they have... we may have to stop here again when we have a little more time.

High quality food at a great price. I've always gone on Tuesdays for lunch because they have "Taco Tuesday" and their tacos are fantastic. Your can choose any type of meat, but I generally pick pulled rib. The establishment is a little on the small side but it's cozy and the staff are friendly. If you like burnt ends I would suggest getting their early because they run out very quickly.

Burnt end app was fantastically tender. Combo platter with brisket and pulled pork equally delicious. Although the meat didn't need it, opted for the sauce flight and each sauce blew me away as well. We had Mac n cheese, twice baked, and corn bread as sides and each met expectations set by the main courses. Too tasty for pics
