The last three times we have been here, they have been out of something. How can a restaurant be out of something on a Thursday evening and the restaurant wasn't even half full? It's not as if the menu is that extensive anyway. The last time we were there we arrived 3 hours before a concert. Again out of something. Our food was so late getting to our table we had to get it to go and eat it on the way. This time, my wife ordered a crab cake dinner and was told it would take at least 20 minutes to prepare. OK fine. After 20 minutes the waiter brought out my entree and told my wife it would be another 20 minutes before hers was done. It was obvious mine was not freshly prepared and had been sitting under a warmer. I was supposed to eat mine while my wife watched? I asked that mine be taken away and prepared fresh when the other entree was done. The waiter was understanding and did so. I can't figure out why he brought it out in the first place. They did give us free wine and an appetizer for understanding, so they did make some accommodations. The crab cake when served was warm at best. Although way too pricey, the food here is excellent, but such ham handed service is inexcusable.

Used to be one of our favorite places. We will always come back in the summer for the concert series but the service is so spotty. Came today at 4pm. We were served by Irvin who appeared to also be bartending. He did not know the dinner menu and when we were trying to get sides other than what was listed, he said that the sweet potato hash was the same thing as the brown butter sweet potato mash. Of course it wasn't. He did not know the menu. He served our drinks and disappeared. After 20 minutes I had to flag down another server who said he would tell Irvin we needed him. Still no Irvin or appetizer. Finally he showed up with it 10 minutes later. The food was very good including pretzel and cheese appetizer, spinach salad and the salmon. But when an entree is priced at $23, I expect good service. Every time we come it's hit or miss. Some servers are excellent and some are just lousy. Can't understand the lack of consistency. We will no doubt be back in the spring but we will likely choose elsewhere until then.

Staff was very nice, good wine. Excellent atmosphere. I'd definitely sit and lounge.
