I'm sure the food would be great, if you can get past the rude employees. Apparently, my family (my husband, 7yr old, and I) didn't meet their requirements to be acknowledged. We came in and waited near a couple. After the couple was asked if they wished to be seated at the bar and declined, the hostess then began conversation with another woman. As she talked for approx 10 minutes, she never acknowledged us. Then she walked away and another family walked in. As the new family walked in, they were immediately greeted by a woman who stared directly at them and acted as though we did not exist. She quickly spoke to them and then walked away without speaking to us at all. This service is unacceptable. Apparently we didn't look wealthy enough for them to acknowledge us so after we waited another 10 minutes, we walked out on our reservation.

Good food of excellent quality and carefully prepared. Owner Linda is on site and assures all is to her high standards. Service attentive. Warm bread slices a plus.

One of the best restaurants in Valpo. I particularly enjoy the "box" lunch they serve each day which includes a small serving of the daily homemade soup, a salad, sandwich, and dessert. The iced tea is flavored with black currant and is served with endless refills. The menu has something for everyone. The ambiance is beautiful and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. The wine selection is varied and they have full bar service as well.
