I've had the pleasure of interacting with Lindsey quite frequently for the past year and a half. Lindsey has always been professional, attentive and personable. In my "opinion" the latest review of her performance was not only abusive but cognitively distorted.

Hello "Des Moinesian", I have worked in the service and bar industry for nearly a decade and simply put Lindsey is one of the best servers I have ever worked with. I guarantee you that over one of your "many" visits she has played a part in a great experience as she has worked at Dish for over 6 years now. Simply put, she has a work ethic and dedication to her job most don't. Also, in your public chastising you do not mention that your experience was so terrible you needed to speak with the manager she was supposedly flirting with. A lot apparently gathered without ever asking a question or having your displeasure listened to. Personally, it's hard to respect someone's opinion when they don't have the fortitude to attach their name to a complaint so brash. Lastly, it would be "Des Moinian". Get it right.

I have been to Trostel’s Dish many times before with decent service and food. Monday night a friend and I went in for dinner and drinks, and after that I’ll never go back. Our server Lindsey, she didn’t tell us her name - it was on our receipt, barely paid us any attention. She spent the majority of her time, while we needed things, at the end of the bar chatting and flirting with staff and what I assume was management (man was standing up and talking with staff, and wearing a button up shirt, but having a beer?). We tried to flag her down, but she either don’t see us or didn’t want to see us. The prices at trostel are high, and so as such I expect at least decent service, but that was not given. Lindsey never checked to see how our food was. She didn’t offer us refills until the cups had been dry for quite a long time and by that point we had enough and just wanted our check. Lindsey’s service is what broke the camel’s back, and we will not be returning to Trostel again. There’s too many other good restaurants in Des Moines to put up with this. We’ll go elsewhere from now on.

Wine down Wednesdays are the best, but the food is fantastic all the time. My go-to small plates are the beef boursin sliders, tuna tataki, havarti shrimp, and the Graziano italian pizza. That said, everything's worth a try. They have a good non small-plate lunch menu, and the patio in the back is a pretty awesome addition.

We missed our regular server, Laura but Haley was awesome. The tuna tataki was spot on. So delish!!! Prime rib and fried avocado was good as well. My raspberry island martini was so good.
