If big slices and variety are your thing, this is the place to be. Be it will or destiny, their pizza is always hot and crispy. When I'm craving some variety, my personal favorite are the Buffalo Chicken, Philly Steak, and Pad Thai slices. However, it's hard to resist their pepperoni and salami, which features paper thin slices of delicious soppressata drizzle with *just* the right amount of balsamic. My only complaint is their prices - two slices and a drink can approach $10. The lunch special should be available around the clock in a town like Iowa City as well - there are plenty of grad students who would come in for the special if it were offered later in the day! But, I understand this is a Big Ten College town, and not everything is cheap! To conclude, if you're wanting a more east-coast type of slice, or perhaps something a little more unique, Mesa can't be beat. It is delicious.

I really enjoyed the pizza for years. I’ve politely asked to have chicken added to their avocado delight for carry out twice, once a year ago and once just a moment ago. Both times I was told they don’t do custom modifications no exceptions. They have even offered this by the slice before, but since it’s not on the menu I can never have it again. This is an add topping option which practically every other business can do. I won’t order from a place that is so stubborn/rigid that they can’t accommodate such a simple request. Please change this.

I love Mesa! Their eclectic slices are always worth the trip over lunch. The eggplant pizza is a favorite of mine and so is the gyro. I had a mushroom, spinach, mozzarella slice today that was extremely good. You really can't go wrong!

I'm from New York City missing the big city slice. So far in Iowa City, I've been able to meet my cravings for a nice slice of pizza at Messa. I've had a variety of slices that have been phenomenal. Their lunch specials are pretty good for the area. This is also great destination for food after drinks over the weekends.

We were appalled at the service. I pointed to the different slices asking what kind they were. (There was about fifteen different varieties) explaining we have never been there before. After I asked about 3 different slices, the girl behind the counter said, "I'm not going to tell you what every different kind is." .... I was lost for words. I wouldn't rate this establishment a 1 star. Still waiting for the manager to call and explain why their employee was so rude. We left and went to the Wedge where without even asking, described every type of pizza. Thank you guys from the Wedge for saving the day.
