This is the best fried chicken that I have ever had. I am from Texas and my family has gone here two years in the row after the Kentucky Derby. We look forward to this meal every year. The staff is amazing and so welcoming. This is true southern comfort food. Can't wait until next year!

Great food. Order the meatloaf and ask for them to customize my order by adding a fried egg on top. The chef delivered and it was delicious. Happy they have reopened and we will be back.

For the price I paid I was slightly disappointed. I had fried chicken and there was plenty of it but I've had just as good if not better elsewhere. The gravy with the mashed potatoes tasted something like it came out of a can that I remember as a child. It was beef gravy on mashed potatoes. To me that doesn't quite go with fried chicken but rather white gravy would've. Corn pudding left a lot to be desired. Salads were fresh and very delicious as well as the bread was hot and yummy! The price of wine was over the top especially for a glass of Merlot. I travel all over the United States and that's the highest price I've ever seen. Even in New York City it's less money. $15 a glass doesn't cut it. The service and our waitress was very good, however, she appeared to be overworked taking care of multiple tables. I gave this a 4 rating because of the ambience and historic value. But if I was giving it on food and service it would be more of a 3 rating.
