We ate outside on the balcony which was so nice. The wine and the food were terrific. We had gator for the first time and loved it. Highly recommend the lump crab cake, so tasty. the staff was very accomodating and the prices reasonable. Highly recommend.

Good experience start to finish. Warm greetings, accommodating, lots of alternative seating (we loved the balcony in the shade), excellent drinks, delicious food (succulent shrimp and grits) and the service was top notch. We had no plan or expectation for lunch and it was the best meal we had in the French Quarter in our 5 night stay. If there were seven stars to give I would grant them.

Made reservations months before the date. Sat next to the kitchen and a very rude and loud table that complained loudly about us being upset by their loud drunken conversation. The food was mediocre. Do not get the shrimp and grits. The pasta was under seasoned and the sausage was grey and not flavourful. The fried chicken was great as was the reisling wine. service was good but did nothing to see if we were okay with the seething arrangements, even though it was in a very loud and crowded area next to the open kitchen. The drinks also took longer than the appetizers to arrive. Very confused as to why the rating is so high. Not a nice atmosphere.

I went in on a Saturday afternoon just to take a break and have a drink and a little snack to kill some time inside the bar. and one of the most interesting bartender I've ever met in my life his name was Roy if you're lucky you'll be able to have a conversation with him when he's their.. he's well with his knowledge about the city great on his knowledge on spirits. ask him about a drink and it will tell you where it came and the story behind it.. a baby become a regular and doesn't even know it I will be back again to enjoy to try the best dessert in the whole world the fat Elvis...thanks again Roy

Food is good and service is great. I would recommend out of novelty to try one of the historic restaurants. Lagase also seems like a decent person too, so supporting one of his restaurants isn't a moral issue.
