J's is another of the must visit restaurant in Old Port. Fresh and classic New England seafood dishes. Come for the lobster roll and stay for the oysters. The restaurant is inviting and the staff are fantastic. Grab a table and enjoy a nice view and find the marina or slide up to the bar and make a new friend. Either way, get ready for a seafood experience.

Was in town for a 4 day class at the Hilton and asked an employee to recommend a place for lunch and J's Oyster was it and what a great recommendation it was! Food was excellent and our server Amy was the icing on the cake! What a treat 👍 Lobster stew was simple yet succulent (and yes loaded with lobster), same for clam chowder. Crab melt was perfect - served w/ mayo on the side, and the haddock sandwich was another winner. Worth the trip!

Though a weird and crowded setup, the staff was nice, the food quality made up for any missed dining space. Im from NY so this was my first time having Maine seafood. I got the Lobster Scampi and, I swear, I had to stop my conversation and close my eyes when I took the first bite of lobster—- it was so good. Everything I hoped for. Sauce wasn’t too salty, just perfect. And Jackie’s cakes were a delight.

I met with with friend there, I was impressed. This is what Maine/New England is all about. If you are in the area, and you truly want to experience different aspects of Maine or New England, this spot is a must. J Oysters is the traditional New England sea port restaurant and bar. The food is amazing , very reasonable pricing.

Food was great, fresh, and served simply. Prices were probably market appropriate for the time of year but for five with only two of us imbibing it was a once a year sort of meal if not a once in a lifetime. Seriously though, this was phenomenal. We all left more than happy. Mac and cheese and Cole slaw where meh. The seafood we had was to die for: lobster, steamers, bouillabaisse. Everything was delicious.
