Oysters. They have fantastic oysters by the half dozen and dozen. Sometimes I go there just for that, sit at the bar and order drinks and oysters (oysters until I’m stuffed), and it actually doesn’t end up being too bad price wise when all is set and done. They have very good gumbo (a bit on the spicy side for me, but very good.) They change up their menu, so there’s a good deal of variety from visit to visit, even if their selection at one time is not as far ranging as some other places. On the other hand the dishes are well though out and high quality. But the oysters are always a given. This really is the place to get oysters in the area.

My wife and i sat in the bar area. Small space but was comfortable. Oysters started the night. Always a good choice. Meal was wonderful. As well as the drinks. It is always a different experience when the bartender is right there to offer suggestions. Go with it.

I'm being generous with the stars because of previous good experiences, but the East Side Grill is not what it used to be. My entree was served barely warm, and was returned looking pretty upside-down when it had been reheated. Risotto cakes were hard, barely warm and dried out. Corn chowder was pretty flavorless. Pan blackened scallops were good, but not nearly as great as they used to be. Each time we go back...and I'm not sure there will be a next-time, it has slipped a bit from the time before....prices are higher, which would be expected and acceptable if the quality was not slipping so quickly. Hope improvements are made, as I miss the golden days of ESG.

Excellent food and excellent service are what you will find here. The bartenders are great. My favorite appetizer dish is the mussels. They are steamed and come with a delicious garlicky broth. I love the half portion menu. One of the best entrees in town is the grilled salmon with honey mustard sauce with spinach and sweet potatoes. Never had a bad meal here!

This place is over the top good. The gorgonzola garlic bread is to die for. All the food has been consistently good for the over twenty years we've be coming. Deb the owner is awesome.
