My friend had his birthday party here and it was a great place for a large group in the basement. The food was great but the portions were really small. I ordered the beef brisket and for over $17 I expected a good amount of food. It came with a few small slices of meat and a slice of bread. The sauces were good.

The burnt ends were not burnt at all but chunks of middle brisket. The brisket was average at best more like Golden corral or all you can eat restaurant brisket. The ribs were flavorful but extremely dry and chewey. The sausage was decent and tender. The Mac and cheese was good but portion was small. The pulled pork like the brisket sat in a tub of water and was not very good. They have a decent selection of beer on tap if you like dark beer or IPA. But no ciders no blondes no lager so not much of pairings for BBQ.

Delicious bbq, fantastic craft beer selection, and great staff! I definitely would recommend this spot! I found the service to be friendly and excellent. Craft beer selection, especially from Michigan breweries, is always changing but always awesome. Food was darn tasty. I have the marbled brisket (5/5), smoked ham (5/5), regular sausage (3/5) and spicy sausage (4/5). The Brussels sprouts are awesome, served along with cooked red pepper, onion, and bacon (5/5). The pinto beans with jalapenos are also good (3/5).

Hubby's birthday at Lockhart's- what a great time. The selection of brewed beverages was extensive. Ales, lagers, something for everyone. Our family thinks they should sell the gumbo by the bucketful because we could just swim in it it's so good. My husband and son-in-law got the huge barbecue plate my daughter got the tamales and I am a sucker for the catfish plate it just reminds me of growing up in the south. Their catfish is always perfectly done hush puppies are delicious greens are different than my Mama's but they're very good. And the pickles are spicy and hot and crispy and wonderful.

Our favorite bar/bbq restaurant in town. The beer selection is top notch and the service is fantastic. We think this bbq is better than Slows or any other. The atmosphere is great especially in the summer outside on the patio. The best part about this place has got to be the Burnt ends. These babies are great when fresh. Pretty expensive for a few meat nuggets but man are they good. Highly recommend. Only downside is finding a good parking spot on a busy weekend.
