The food has been great every time we've been here. The last visit we noticed how dirty it was though. The place needs a good cleaning. Hair on the candle on our table, dirty window sills, carpeting, etc. Kind of a turn off.

Radio blaring, servers switched without notice, food so so, cold. The fries old, maybe held over from lunch. Guacamole brought to our table dropped at the end of the table and bowl is super heavy we had to get up to move it so we could get to it. Waited 1/2 hour for dessert which was less than Sysco-ish. “We would like a cup of coffee” we said to the backside of our server as she vanished again. After $70 bill plus tip we headed home hungry. Julie, what is going on up there? So dissatisfied.

Constantly waiting to get greeted, to make our order, to get our bill... ridiculous. High prices for average food. Terrible organization.

Pay no attention to people named Lilu from New York. Excellent food. Down to earth atmosphere. Often live music in the bar. Good menu variety, done well.

If you live or visit Houghton, Michigan, you really need to go to the Bonfire Grill which is located in the Franklin Inn. Julie, the owner, makes you feel like home. The food is great, menu has great variety, customer service is excellent. The staff is just as great. Shayna provided great service. When we left, we felt like we had several friends for life. Great experience, ambiance and view of the lake. Look forward to my next trip to Houghton, Michigan. Kristin Martin
