Was very excited to try it here, based off of the reviews. The salad was mostly the hard white pieces of lettuce. Never thought I would complain about a salad. The minestrone soup was good but I had to season it with lots of salt because it was very bland. My boyfriend tried the trio pasta platter, which was also bland. My pasta dish and his both also had to be salted to give it flavor. It wasn't the worst food but not my favorite. The waiter we had was great though, so service was good, but not sure if we will be back.

Service was great. The food was just average. We tried the Grotto Trio for some variety and the chicken was like rubber...or maybe foam. It had a weird texture. Pizza was ok. I expected much better considering past experience at the other 2 restaurants with the same owner.

From the outside you wouldn't expect much, but don't let the outside fool you... Grotto was an amazing surprise. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was nice, but relaxed. I'll be back next time I'm on this side of town.

My wife and I have driven past this place a few times and decided to finally try it. It was great and priced very fairly for the quality and atmosphere. Expect a slight wait on a Friday and Saturday night.
