Went foe mothers day brunch. Two of us ordered steak both of which were a little over cooked. However we were compensated bloody marys for our long wait, new complementary steaks cooked to perfection and 4 complementary desserts of our choice. Fantastic wait staff. Great decor. Overall very fun experience. If you have the extra dough lying around this place is well worth it.

First visit Ocean Prime. I came in for an impromptu late lunch on Friday, April 6, 2018. I was greeted, seated and served right away. Lovely ambience. I had high expectations given the the $58 price tag for lunch (food and 22% gratuity). My food and experience was okay as shared below: Bread - sour dough and warmed butter were perfection. Warm gooey middle, nice crunch. The two, what I assume to be pretzel pieces, were dried out and inedible and should have been thrown away. Basket was dropped off at the edge of the table, not within arms reach. Berries and Bubbles cocktail - I ordered the cocktail based on Yelp reviews. Lovely presentation. The house made sour overpowered all other flavors making the drink incredibly sour. There was one blackberry and a bunch of blueberries which were also very sour. Disappointed and wouldn't order this again. The dry ice was fun. Blackened Salmon Salad - the salmon was perfection. Juicy and favorable and cooked to my requested temperature. I ordered the poppy seed salad dressing on the side and unfortunately it didn't come that way (in fairness, I also didn't point this out to the server). I found the dressing overwhelming and more mayo/cream based than I was expecting. It wasn't a good balance of fruit, nuts, lettuce and dressing. I wouldn't order it again. Ten layer carrot cake - extremely delicious as other reviewers have shared. I would return to Ocean Prime for the carrot cake alone. The whipped cream and pineapple syrup added some interesting flavors. I took most of it home and unfortunately neither the syrup nor the whipped cream made it into my take home box. That was really disappointing. There are so many dining options and at this price point, I left a little disappointed.

I booked the Motown room (seats up to 8) with Sue who is in charge of private dining at Ocean Prime-Troy last Friday night. Although the reservation became fully non-refundable with a minimum charge 72 hours before the event, Sue agreed to waive the minimum charge when several of the attendees had conflicts making them unable to attend 1 day before the event. Ocean Prime went even further offering, if needed, to cancel this private room with no charge at all due the last minute conflicts. We ultimately ended up enjoying a wonderful meal at Ocean Prime (with the minimum waived) last Friday due to Ocean Prime's flexibility and true dedication to its customers. Ocean Prime should be publicly applauded for the same as it will not be forgotten. Thanks.

The food was great as usual, however the customer service was not! I was really surprised by that. I usually get superior service at ocean prime. The waiter never told us he's name. We asked for straws for are drinks he never bought them to the table. He didn't fill up are drinks. He gave me the wrong food order. He was gone for long periods of time. I will never go back during restaurant week!

Amazing food. Pricey, but great for a date night or happy hour. Bar/lounge is very cool. recommend this over sit down. Expect long wait without reservations.
