Had the worst experience at the Perkins in Crystal, MN (Store #1019). My mother ordered a breakfast to-go meal yesterday, Friday, April 27 and she saw some delicious looking strawberries in the bakery section so she ordered a whole strawberry cheesecake as well. Fast forward to today, Friday, April 28 and we go to cut a slice this evening only to find out it’s nothing but strawberries. No cheesecake. Certainly there was a mix up. We call the restaurant and ask to speak with a supervisor. A man gets on the phone claiming to be the manager and we explain the situation to him. He goes to tell us that they don’t sell strawberry cheesecake, only strawberry pie. We told him that the cashier that took the order did not state that at the time and gave us this pie when we asked for cheesecake. He then says, “okay” and then nothing else. Clearly he hasn’t heard a word so I reiterate what I just told him less than a minute ago. He says, “okay, what do you want me to do about that?” I say, “what can you offer? We have a pie that we do not want, we can bring it back to you for a full refund or you could offer a discount of some sort.” He says sure I could do one of those. I asked my mom which she’d prefer and she said do the discount. So Chris takes down her name and number then proceeds to tell us that we need to bring the pie back with the receipt. My mom was having trouble locating the receipt and I made this known to him. I asked him if they could look up the transaction if she couldn’t find it and he said no. Thankfully, she ends up finding the receipt but we were also surprised at the fact that he asked us to bring the pie back as well. (Mind you, we told him that we had cut a slice and that’s when we realized it wasn’t cheesecake. We did not at any point eat the pie but since it left the store, Perkins wouldn’t be able to sell it regardless so what was the point in making us return the pie?) After he made this ridiculous statement, we figured we’d show up right away instead of waiting because He did not handle the situation correctly from the start. When we got there we waited for a while and took a look at their bakery section more closely. A man walks up to the counter and I said, “are you the guy we just spoke with?” He says, “yes, I was waiting for you all to show up.” We handed him the receipt and told him that we brought the pie back with the slice that we had originally cut out. He laughs, shakes his head, then turns around and throws it away. I said, we’d like the French Silk instead (price difference, the French silk is cheaper than the one my mom ordered one day prior). He goes, “by the way, we haven’t sold Cheesecake in over 10 years.” (This is not true, we have lived in our current home for 10 years and began going to this specific Perkins once we made the move. In that time, we would order the strawberry cheesecake which they sold around Mother’s Day alongside their strawberry pie). He argues with us, stating his wife has worked with Perkins for over 20 years and he’s correct. My mother being especially annoyed with this guys attitude, tone, and disrespect, goes and asks him why the picture shows a layer of white filling (similar to cheesecake) on the promotional pictures. He explains its the same filling as the French silk. I, not being one to argue, asked for him to cover the difference and give my mother her change. This is where the plot thickens. He refused to give my mother her change stating that the receipt is not itemized! This is a receipt that is printed from THEIR MACHINES!! This is not a special receipt we made up! This is exactly what we were given at the time of purchase! He then states that he will not give her the change and that he has done way more than what anyone else would do in the situation. My mom says, “I’m calling corporate!” He laughs and says, “go right ahead.” We ask for his name (Chris Johnson) which is when he tells us because he wasn’t wearing a name tag of any kind and did not introduce himself on the phone or in person until we asked. We will never eat here again!

In general it was pretty good but could have been a little better. It was free pie day there and I feel what the server said was trying to get us out with out offering it. I did say it is free pie day and at that time she told us what kind they had. Something I don't like at all places like that is they put the bill down on the table while you're still eating

It was about 3:30 When we went so service was good. Food was hot. They have a menu that has dishes that run $4, 5, or 6 dollars but with that menu you can't have changes with it. I had eggs in a hole. Came with hash browns and bacon. Sourdough bread that has a hole where a medium cook egg is at. The egg was done perfect came hot. Of course they have the regular menu. Coffee is good, also I like the idea of having my own little pot of coffee at the table . What i had was good. The fellow who sat us was friendly . He also took our food order. You could tell that he likes what he does.

Typically when I go there, they are pretty good, but we don't typically go when it's busy. The last time we went, it was a little busy and it was a horrible experience. I waited for 45 minutes just to get seated and waited on. I was the only one waiting in line. By the time everything came out everything was cold, and there was a hair in the pancakes. Hopefully we'll have a better experience next time.

Great place, very friendly. Was here this morning with my two sisters and had Angel for our server and he was so amazing! Super nice, super outgoing and friendly. Always attentive to our every need. Overall I'd definitely come back. It's staff like Angel that made our experience wonderful
