The first time I ordered food here was about a 2 months ago. I was working next door at Pearson's Candy. The bartender and waitress, were very friendly and attentive. I ordered a whiskey/7, it was perfectly strong, then I ordered some cheese fries, loved the garlic cheesiness. Then another whiskey. I had to try it again only something else on the menu. Came in about a month later. The Buffalo Soldier Burger is what I ordered, it was so good, I had it twice. Found out that almost everything is made or cut in house. Closet place I found to being like farm to table.

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile since we live right around the corner, but this experience was so extremely mediocre there’s no reason we’d ever come back. We were seated right away on a Friday night (despite the host giving us some heat for not making a reservation). This food was not bad, but it took an extremely long time to come out. Like, 45 minutes after ordering. Sadly, the last plate to arrive was for the 3-year-old at the table, who did manage to keep her cool despite being hungry. Our waitress was very nice, but the food was nothing to write home about, and the restaurant was very understaffed. But, in my mind, the worst part after all that waiting was that she brought me a beer I didn’t ask for and then charged me for it. You’d be better off going to Tiffs or finding something else in the Village.

The bartender was super friendly and helpful with menu options. My daughter tried the baked mac and cheese and thought it tasted too strongly of parmesan. She couldn't eat it, but cheese lovers would love it!

Great happy hour. I've been coming here for a few years. I like that they change their menu every so often to keep the experience fresh. They've kept the winners and replaced the losers. Fair prices for St. Paul dining. I can understand the slow service comments from time to time, but I recommend giving this place a try. (JAMBALAYA PICTURED)

Good drinks. Food was pretty good. Happy hour was reasonable. Service was very slow.
