Just being honest here. Service mediocre, always 3 steps behind with refills. White sauce was almost to salty to eat. No ketchup on table, no salad dressing for house salad, no crackers, dressing, butter on table before food got to table and it was a 30 minute wait for food to table. Restaurant was only 1/3 filled with full staff. Honestly not like the Elite I was looking forward to. I will say just the main meat, which was veal would have rated a 2.5- to a 3.0 star rating. I will have to think long and hard about going back. Looks like the only true downtown place is the oldest eating place in Jackson. The Mayflower.

Stopped off here for a quick lunch and wasn’t disappointed. This is one of the older lunch establishments in the downtown Jackson area. There wasn’t a long wait to get a table and the hostess was friendly as she sat us. Our waitress was courteous and informed us of the specials and got our drink order. The food came out pretty fast and had really good flavor. The prices were about right considering the amount of food you received and all in all it was a good experience. Definitely try the rolls.

Had to ask for spoons for coffee. I ordered scrambled eggs with American cheese and when I got them it had cheddar on them. I told the server and she said "Well that's all we have". She grumbled that she could get me some without cheese. When I said yes, she got irritated and grabbed the plate. Don't sit in the booth beside the bus tub. They throw dishes in it over and over. It's dark in the back of the restaurant.

If I could leave no stars I would. Restaurant extremely run down, moldy, musty smell hits you right when you walk in. Overcame my gut feeling of wanting to leave, sat down, ordered fried chicken. Halfway through my meal, find a small cockroach dead, baked into a roll I was about to eat. Absolutely foul. Please do not eat here, and end up like me, sitting here wondering if I am about to deal with food poisoning all night. If a restaurant can't manage pest control, can they really be trusted with food safety? Likely not. Disgusting.

We came on a rare snowy day. The place was obviously understaffed due to weather, which was understandable. The staff was friendly, but all space cadets. The place has a cool weathered-antique, run-down vibe — like if the owner told the interior decorator, “Give me a diner with essence of a bottle-only dive bar.” Water started leaking from ceiling onto my dad’s head as soon as we sat down, so we had to change booths. My dad ordered the enchiladas and I ordered the chicken club. His food was obviously microwaved and I got ham, not chicken, on my club. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she said, “I’ll go ask why,” and left without taking the ham sandwich. Odd choice. When she returned, she explained the cook had subbed the chicken with ham because they ran out of chicken. I kept the sandwich, which was comped. The price of the food was too high for the quality we were served. Also, the enchiladas apparently didn’t sit well. I wouldn’t recommend going on an off day.
