This is my absolute favorite local pub! The food is always extremely tasty; if you like potato salad, this is THE place to get it, along with some of your other pub grub favorites. There are tons of fantastic draft beers on tap, and many many other available options. I love the downtown setting and atmosphere inside, it really feels like an older place with a hint of an urban feel. The staff are all very friendly, funny, and know how to treat a customer. I'd give The porter six stars if I could but Google won't let me.

Can I just say that The Porter is a great little spot? It's not too big, the food is really good (try the pretzel...it's massive and delicious), and the service has always been great. They have an excellent beer selection!

Went for the Whiskey Wednesday and wasn't disappointed. In addition to the whiskey they had nearly an entire wall of delicious, local craft beers to choose from, and the food really hit the spot too. Add to that the relaxed atmosphere and incredibly attentive and helpful staff, and you end up with a wonderful evening. I believe this was only my second time ever visiting The Porter, but they made sure it certainly won't be my last.

Good food, good beer. Needs maintenance though - broken plumbing, peeling floors, rotted wood on the outside... This could be a very awesome place or a very sad one in a couple years.

Went in on a Friday night around 7:30 to grab dinner and a beer with my wife. It wasn't crazy busy but we sat there for 12 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the staff. There was a good number of staff working. Other tables were waited on and empty tables were bused around us but no one ever said someone will be right with you, welcome to the Porter, or anything for that matter. I left after the 12 minutes, I didn't try and wait it out any longer.
