We are usually extremely easy going when it comes to reviews, but our first and last takeout from this place needs to brought up. First of all, on the take out order an item was left out completely. But instead of calling back, and hey had our number in their point of sale system, I had to call upon driving 20 minutes Home to see the item was missing. So while in the phone they even said, we forgot your crab Rangoon. No solution, like we’ll get some over to you with one of our delivery options. Just silence. Then pointed out the chicken satay didn’t have peanut sauce. And the chicken itself was way over cooked. The rice container was barely half full for the curry dish. Again I pointed this out on the phone and there was no suggestion for remedy from them. I said really nothing else to say? He suggested he take our name down and maybe they could do something next time we were there. I suggested maybe chopping half of our $74 bill. (Yeah, that’s what you get for $74 in the pictures) he said he couldn’t do that. Conversation and relationship with the restaurant is done. Except for my review on the next website...

I have lived in West County St. Louis for two years and have been very disappointed with the Asian cuisine scene. Rice Thai Bistro has been the major exception to that rule. The food is delicious and is some of the best curry I have had in the Thai or Filipino style. It's small inside which makes for a cozy meal, and most others who come to the restaurant have friendly relationships with the owners. This is the only place I try to get my Asian fix out unless I am closer in to the city.

Looking at some of the negative reviews, I really think some diners have an ax to grind or have no idea about good Thai food. This place is pretty good, not great but definitely worth a stop on a regular basis. One word of caution. Some dishes are exceptional while others are mediocre. Try the Thai omelet for something different and delicious. The Plah Goong and Seaweed salads are excellent. Some Thai food tends to be a touch sweet so I ask for less sweet and more spice and they cook to order. Ask the waitperson about the dish you want to order to make sure it is something you will like. The owner does not use artificial ingredients as some reviewers have claimed. Instead you will find fresh spices and seasonings not found at other Thai restaurants.

Folks - This may be a small, no frills spot off of busy Manchester, but I promise you that it is some of the best Thai food you will find in all of St. Louis. This is a true, mom and pop place with a very talented and extremely nice husband / wife team cooking 100% of everything that comes out of the kitchen. If you show up here on Friday or Saturday, DO NOT LOOK AT THE MENU... just order the special. It is never boring or “usual” and is always fantastic. Off the menu, it’s all great. Special props to the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Pad Se Ewe, Basil Stir Fry, Pad Prig Sod, BBQ wonton soup, Tom Yum and any curry. The appetizers are also handmade and phenomenal. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Had a great experience here! It mine and my fiancee first time having Thai food and the chef came put and recommended us food and wine and even showed my fiance how to properly eat his dinner to get the best flavor (because he wasn't using the rice). You can tell the chef really enjoys his job. The scenery is not overly fancy by any means, but definitely draws a chilled and relaxing vibe with its low lights and slow music. Highly recommended.
