Hendricks BBQ was pretty good. They are in the old Waterworks building, on the South side of the Country Inn and Suites in old St. Charles. Parking can be tricky. You enter from the lower side, on the North end of the hotel. The hotel and Hendricks share a parking lot. The place has lots of local charm. They have live music in the downstairs bar on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a big patio with a view of the Katy Trail. There is an elevator for accessibility.

Honestly have never had great service here, and their drinks, while they have a great selection and when they're made well are GOOD, unfortunately are hit or miss most of the time. Vibe is great, patio/deck is great and we love the Moonshine Blues Bar downstairs, just wish it wasn't so small. Food is pretty good but can also be hit or miss, for instance my brisket tonight was a little dry. Fried green tomatoes which we ordered as an app were brought out with our meal. Good base for a restaurant but there is plenty of room for improvement!

To say service at Hendricks was SLOW is an understatement. We went for a family lunch On a Sunday afternoon. There were many empty tables and seemingly enough wait staff. Unfortunately, it still took nearly one hour from ordering to get our food. We were patient and would have been understanding had there been any communication from our waitress or the manager that explained the wait. After explaining to the manager that we were going to miss our afternoon plans due to the ongoing wait, she provided some odd explanation detailing the method of their cooking style. She came back after we had already paid saying that had we not already paid she would have taken something off the bill. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the food was delicious. Delicious but not worth the wait with small children.

The atmosphere and average look attracts you immediately. Then you see the smoker outside, becoming even more excited! You go inside and get seated, polite staff. The menu isn't too big, you choose what you want. But, here is the bad part. The barbeque is extremely average at best. Trying all the meats left me being slightly interested in the pulled pork and Turkey. Everything else had very little flavor that left me disappointed. The best thing there was the baked beans. Now, don't get me wrong, the food isn't disgusting, but it surely won't leave you thinking, "That was some good BBQ!"

Made reservations for 6:30 PM. We arrived at 6:20 PM and were told that we would have to wait longer for our reserve table. The hostess seemed annoyed that we had a reservation. We ordered drinks and two appetizers as we sat down and they came out pretty soon afterwards. Next we ordered our meals and some soup and salad. Our waitress told us that they couldn’t bring the super salad out until the whole rest of the meal was coming out also which we thought was odd. We waited for an hour for food to come out after that point. Our meat was cold, the mac & cheese was not impressive, none of the sides were very impressive and the waitress was not concerned nor did she offered to warm up or meet or get us a different serving that was not cold. We had to mention that something needed to be done since we waited over an hour for cold food. I pointed out that if our food was running late it would still be warm not cold when she brought it to us. The manager then came over and did not have a solution and said he would come back with one. About 10 minutes later he came back and offered us 50% off of our meal. We will probably never be back here again. Looks cool but service sucks and the meal should flow with appetizers, soup and salad before the main course.
