If their family, owners, and employees had not bumped up the ratings for the reviews, it would not be close to the rating showing. Plus they use the reviews to advertise specials, also bumping up the reviews. I guess they couldn't get good ratings on their own. Actually, I would have given this restaurant more stars but I left upset. The server, a man, thought it was really funny to make demeaning, disparaging remarks about blondes, intimating that blondes are stupid and mindless. Not once but THREE times!!! I AM BLONDE!!!!! How very stupid of him. How very rude!!! He didn't make them to me but there were very few people in there and we were all within earshot. The food was decent but not great. The prices were reasonable on some things, high on others. Because of his ignorance we left very upset.

My family has owned it for over 30 years now. They have worked hard for over half of their life to keep this place going strong. Some reviews on here talk about service when busy. It's a small town and staff is limited due to being so close to a big city. It's extremely hard to find hard working dependable and honest staff that cares about their job and cares about the guests who make it possible for us to keep the doors open. So because of this when it is a busy weekend, we do our very best, especially with large groups it's going to take a little extra time to care for them. People shouldn't judge on 1 bad experience they have until they give it another try. Please remember it's extremely hard to compete with the chains in the city and we really appreciate our small town regulars and anyone else who decides to give us a chance.

Friendly, family welcoming place with good food made from scratch, interesting decor, and friendly service. Wait is a little long at peak times as they get busy, so would not recommend as a quick highway stop, but for a family dinner out, it’s great.
