I frequently have breakfast at this Friendly's with my elderly mother. Typically, the staff is very friendly and the food more than decent for the price (1/2 price during the week thing). Usually, my only complaint is that, quite often, the place is uncomfortably chilly regardless of the time of year. HOWEVER, today when my mother and I stopped by the virtually empty restaurant around 10:00 AM, we were greeted by a young man who could not have been more rude or inappropriate. He showed us to a 2 person booth right next to the kitchen entrance. When he overheard me ask my mother (again, elderly), if she was too close to the kitchen he chimed in with, "It's a small restaurant, all the tables are close to the kitchen." I indicated a booth diagonally across the aisle and stated that we wished to sit there. His response, (offered in the sarcastic tone all too familiar for those who have raised teenagers, which by the way he is not), was, "That's closer to the kitchen but, WHATEVER!" As soon as he turned from us, my mother stated that she thought we should just leave...which we did immediately. The only good news is that we ended up having a marvelous breakfast around the corner,(Barous's on Ft. Eddy Rd), where we were greeted warmly, invited to sit wherever we like, and served a truly delicious breakfast at a price point not very much higher than Friendly's "1/2 Price". It will be a long time before I go back to Friendly's!

I stopped around 2p for a quick lunch, the staff is nice, but they did a lot of standing around and talking with family who came in to eat, when it was clear that there was some cleanup that needed to be done in the dining room. The food was ok, nothing I'd rave about, but it did get served quickly and the server did a good job.

Our server was completely rude. When my 9 yr old disabled child was ordering his ice cream he told our server 4 times no cherrys please. She then stated I heard you rudely to a CHILD. Well when it came to our table gueas what was on it? A damn cherry. My son stated I asked for no cherry and her response was well you can pick it off!!! Excuse me?? NO. How bout you actually listen to your customers the first time!? All the manager did was make a new one for him and apologize like a timid mouse. Wont be returning ever!!
