I only went to Famous Dave's once a decade ago and I don't remember if I liked it. We were headed from AC to Mays Landing today and stopped for dinner. The kids got chicken tenders, corn dogs, and a plain burger. My husband got the ultimate burger (jalapeno bacon & pork on top) and the baked beans. I got the Georgia pulled pork sandwich with corn on the cob and coleslaw. It was so good, I'm looking for one closer to home so I can get the pork again! I used the sweet & zesty and rich & sassy sauces (both good) and tried the Georgia mustard and Texas pit sauces (too hot for me.) The kids are their meals and were especially happy to get a little oreo with their meals. All in all, a great experience and even better food.

The last time I was here we stopped in on our way home from the shore around 6pm on a Sunday with hardly anyone there, literally. We waited forever for our waitress to come take our drink order, then waited forever for the food, which was not brought out by our waitress by the way but by what seemed like the cooks and by then it was not hot but more on the warm side, as if they finally got tired of waiting for her and brought it out themselves. We were right in front of the kitchen doors and did not see her walk back there any other time except to take our order back. We were stuck there until after 8pm. We waited well over 30 minutes, not even kidding, for her to come pick up the check so we could pay and just leave. BUT SHE NEVER CAME BACK. Meanwhile, she's walking around actively ignoring us. Couldn't get her attention to save our lives. She was more concerned with whoever she was talking to and hanging out with at work to do her job. We will never be visiting the restaurant at this location ever again.

Love the food here. Good meats. Two problems: 1) Something is wrong with the draft beer and you're really gonna want a draft to go with this food. Every time I go the draft beer is flat, tastes weird and watery. It's got to be a storage, temp, dirty line or soapy glass issue. Something is wrong. 2) The serving size for a side of fries has changed and it borders on insulting. You get (maybe?) eleven fries. I appreciate being able to get some good deals (especially during happy hour), but their attempts to save money instead of drawing more customers by improving their products and services has me leaning toward a 3.5 rating.

I've been hear twice now within a week or two and I can honestly say, I won't be back. Both times the place was dead but service was terrible. You would say this would be the time a server would be most attentive and give top service. They seem to want talk in the back the check on customers. The food the first was old and dry. We send back burnt ends because they were like rubber. The second time food was a little better. I sat at bar this time and the bartender was barely at the bar. She rang a customer up right in front of me while my empty beer bottle had been sitting for at least 10 mins. I actually grabbed the manager to get my beer. He's a younger guy. It seems the employee do what they want here.

I have never eaten at this location, but just this past weekend had this restaurant cater a family birthday party. Clayton arrived on time and dressed very professionally (dress shirt and tie) to set up the food stations. I provided the decorated table and he had 4 sterno racks set up in less than 15 min. I had pulled chicken, chicken tenders, Mac n cheese , Corn cob and tray of corn muffins. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! FDB provided all the plates (very sturdy 3 section cardboard) , plasticware, napkins , butter pats and sauces for tenders. I had 25 guest and ordered for 35 just to have extra it was plenty enough. I definitely would do it again! Also would like to mention that when I question arose, the restaurant called me (believe it was Randy ? ) to double check an item he too was polite and professional. Overall, I just want to say “thank you “ to Famous Dave’s BBQ for making this event a success !
