Generosity. Lidia's Cuban Kitchen is a generous place. I was visiting a friend in Cranford NJ, and he suggested we dine at Lidia's. We chatted with the owner, Jorge, by sheer circumstance as we approached the door, he was opening a box of cigars with friends at the time, and he immediately offered me a cigar even though we had yet made it clear that we were coming for dinner. Inside, the waitress recited a huge list of specials, careful to describe each one in detail and when we asked for recommendations, she helped tailer our meal perfectly. Prior to this, I had yet to find Cuban cuisine to my liking, but the food here was fabulous, delicious and bountiful. We brought leftovers home and it was quite tasty the day later, by the way. The place was packed with locals, everybody happy with mouths full. At the end of the meal, Jorge came by to say goodbye and he recommended we order his Cuban sandwich when we next visit, his description almost compelled me to order one on the way out. Great place, great people, great food. And I just finished Jorge's cigar as I type this, smooth and suave, like his establishment.

Quaint Cuban restaurant with tasty options for lunch or dinner. Friend plaintains were excellent as well as the fried pork pieces with garlic sauce. Cuban sandwich was okay but I have had better. Service was very slow but the atmosphere and good company made up for it.

Great byob close to home. Food was great. We tried just about all the appetizers and a lot of the menu items in our party of 17. The chicken was probably the only item that didn't get great reviews. The snapper was a massive fish that was cooked well. The skirt steak was enjoyed by all. We will definitely be back.
