Yesterday I had the pleasure of dining at the Adega Grill & I had a Wonderful Time! First & foremost was the free parking garage located around the corner at 99 Madison Street. Trying to find a parking space downtown Newark is like finding a needle in a haystack! You just need to remember to get your parking stub stamped before leaving the restaurant. There are two entrances that I noticed, one for the bar & the other to the restaurant. The restaurant vibe is very inviting, soft lights, fireplace & upholstered sofa seating! The menu was very appealing & the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating to ALL of our needs. The food was great, we enjoyed appetizers, clams in garlic broth, calamari & stuffed shrimp. I enjoyed my Surf & Turf although I wish the portions were bigger. The Sangria was definitely on Point! It was a perfect blend. The bathroom was very clean and elegant, which is always appreciated. On my next outing I will checkout Happy Hour at the Bar and get back to you!

Very good spot. On a snowy night it was the only place around that was open so the long bar was packed. The food and service were both good. I had the grilled octopus with potatoes/peppers/onions and it was very fresh and tasty. The house salad beforehand was soooo fresh and delicious - just like you get in Europe. The bold Portuguese red wine my supermodel bartender recommended was very good, too. This place serves quality food, prepared simply, and with huge portions. Very good. The only negative was the cheesy hip-hop music playing right over my head all night. It was loud and even though I ate in the bar, it was difficult to hear anything.

Staff very attentive. Loved the food. Had calamari for the first time and it was great. Would return when back in the area.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like gold. Polite, pleasant and super efficient service, reminiscent of old fashioned family restaurants. This really made an impression on us....then the food came and we were amazed at the quality of ingredients. Seasoned well, presented beautifully, priced reasonably. One of the best sangrias around too! We'll be back for sure.

This place has great steaks that are relatively affordable and their crab cakes are amazing. I also love their stuffed shrimp. I've taken several coworkers there and they all have loved it. My one complaint is that their desserts are subpar, especially for their prices, but everything else is great.
