Food is off the charts great! Everything was wonderful. I had the catfish, my wife had the brisket, cornbread, fried cabbage, okra, black Eyed peas, Mac n cheese all just wonderful! We even tried a new pie called vinegar pie which is a depression era recipe that tastes like tart apples. Really enjoyed ourselves. Owner is very pleasant. We will be back.

We had heard this was a must do if we were in the area. We were driving thru N.M. today and stopped in for lunch. Not open at lunchtime with no info as to why. This needs to be updated explaining why it's not open or dropped from google.

The first thing I got here was the Sweet Tea. And I capitalize Sweet Tea because it was that damn good. The first sip brought back memories of picking cherries at my Nanny's house and eating Nilla Wafers at my Grandma Liz's kitchen table. Absolute perfection. I ordered the meatloaf with a biscuit, fried cabbage, fried okra, and black eyed peas. It. Was. Perfection. I haven't had food that good in a long a** time. The okra was perfectly crispy, the biscuit perfectly fluffy, and the meatloaf was heavenly. My husband got BBQ pork ribs with Curtis's special sauce and cornbread, with BBQ beans, Mac and cheese, and collard greens. Again. Everything was perfection. Crutis's special sauce was amazing. Then came the pie. I have no words that will do her pies justice. Curtis and Elisa were wonderful and hospitable and so very kind. The embodiment of southern hospitality. TLDR: Go here and eat the food. It was amazing.

What a trip. This place is down home funky. A very old brick carriage house into a cafe. We had, between us, stuffed cabbage, fried catfish, fried okra, slaw, bbq beans, veggie combo, mashed potatoes, and jalapeño cornbread and took a piece of cherry pie with us. And we each ate a bit more than half. The cornbread and catfish were delicious. The slaw was a bit too sweet for me to love but I'm not a sugar person, and the okra was a treat from childhood since my dad was a southerner. The veggies needed some personality. But the proprietress has enough personality to totally make up for anything else. The bathroom was......interesting and a little too funky for my taste. If you don't like funky, don't come in here. But if you do, it's kinda fun.

Really quaint little place with tasty food. The pulled pork sandwich and fried cabbage was awesome. Elisa and her husband were very friendly! Highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through Demming. 😋
