Made a last minute reservation at El Meson on OpenTable and so glad we did! El Meson is an easy stroll from the Plaza. My mother and I ordered wine, two tapas to share, and an orange-spiced flan. The waiter was genuinely kind and attentive. If you're looking for Spanish-infused food that's beautiful, tasty, and a tad on the luxurious side, this is the spot for you! We ate in the dining room, but the bar area across the hallway looked like it was plenty of fun. If you're looking to have a quiet conversation, go with the dining room. For a good time and live music, see if you can snag a seat in the bar area! Also...I'm sill dreaming of the goat cheese cheesecake. REALLY wish I had ordered that as a second dessert.

Delicious food, great ambiance and atmosphere, reasonable prices for the quality. It's a small restaurant with a tapas menu- while I was there they had live jazz with local performers playing original music. All in all it was a great spot and I will return. The Oyster mushrooms were shockingly delicious- you should try them.

Average all around. We had the mussel special in white wine sauce. They were very large (too big for me), and it would have been better with a piece of toast to soak up the sauce. We also ordered the calamari, which was a bit over fried. We did enjoy the eggplant fries. Churro dessert was also a bit too crunchy. Sangria was just ok, not a lot 9f flavor.

Tastefully decorated El Meson is a downtown gem with superb Spanish food & wines including cava. The grilled oyster mushrooms are a favorite as a tapa. Regarding entrees, the Paella is magnificent and well worth the 25 minute wait as it is freshly prepared. An adjoining lounge provides live music entertainment with jazz, flamenco and tango singing and dancing on various scheduled days. An abbreviated bar menu is available. The service is excellent with , knowledgeable and informed waitpersons able to share information on the food preperation and the various regions in Spain from which they originate.

Fantastico! The jazz ensemble was fabulous, and the atmosphere and food / drinks just what we were looking for. Fun place. Thanks
