Had never been to Socorro,NM before, & I did not want fast food. We tried Sourdough Mine on a lark. I ordered a Mushroom appetizer to share, Chicken Parmesan for my spouse, & Roasted Chicken (with Mashed Potatoes & Coleslaw as sides) for myself. The Chicken Parmesan I was told was satisfactory. The mushrooms I could have done with more, but they tasted just fine. The Chicken? Oh the chicken! The chicken was grossly overcooked to the point it was softer in consistency when compared to my mashed potatoes. I was very disappointed 😞. I of course did not take it out on my 2 servers, nor did I send it back. Suffice to say I did not finish my meal, nor did I take leftovers. But if I ever find myself in Socorro, I would sooner chew my own leg off & season it, than eat at Sourdough Mine again. The chef can do much much better the next time he prepares Pecan wood Roasted Chicken 🍗! I was surprised that the best part of my meal was....the balsamic vinegar dressed fresh coleslaw!

Great restaurant. Had live music and a wonderful atmosphere. Wait staff were quick and courteous. I had the fish and chips, and they were delicious. Fish was cooked perfectly, and the batter was crisp and tasty. Price was perfectly reasonable as well, and I will definitely eat there again.

The French Dip made me wish I had a bigger stomach. Holy smokes, this place is great! Fantastic service paired with flavorful food makes for an awesome late lunch in Socorro, NM.

Service is not perfect but it is friendly. The food is very good. They serve good pizzas and very good lemon fish. Coffee is good here too. Eating here was like eating in the wild west. The building is a former home of a prominent politician of 1870 Soccoro NM. The front doors are wood and one has cowbells hanging on it. The gusty wind blew the doors open once in awhile. There is a saloon like bar in the back. A transient native American drifted in and tried to buy food for only $2.00 so the waitress bought him a hamburger. I tipped the waitress a little extra to pitch in a little for the natives' burger. He even sang a couple of traditional songs for everyone. We loved the food and the prices are reasonable so we decided to return here when ever we are in Soccoro.

Disappointed. Socorro needs a good restaurant. I had high hopes. Given the opportunity ( a college town with a diverse faculty and student body) one would think Sourdough would use some imagination in their menu. Mostly beef beef and more beef. Food pairing was strange. Roast chicken with fries? Mashed potatoes or rice would seem to be a better choice if not a healthier one. The roast chicken tasted like it was leftover from days before and reheated. It was really dry. Tasted like sawdust. Suggest the have a really good pasta which is vegetarian but adding meatballs or chicken for a few dollars more. For those that need to eat more healthy. The chef needs to up their game.
