My idea of a perfect date night. Had a delicious meal, even though we sat at the bar it was still intimate and was able to enjoy our food without being too crowded. Customer service was great! Everyone welcoming and smiling. There were guests there of all ages. After dinner we attended a concert next door. Staff was super friendly. Everything about my experience here was wonderful.

We stayed in the Hilton hotel and needed a good place to eat. The concierge at the hotel recommend this restaurant. Good recommendation. This restaurant was within walking distance of the hotel. The food is very good and the staff is friendly and helpful. The ambiance is very nice and the restaurant is easy to find and see from the street.

Excellent place to drink and eat! Excellent place to be entertained as well. Their beer selection is fantastic! From domestic to import, generic to craft - they have beer for all tastes; the same can be said for their liquor selection as well - if you want something small-batch or unique, there’s a decent chance they’ll have something for you. They also offer great flights of beer as well, in case you can’t decide which you’d like to try first, try them all, why not? You’re there for a reason, after all. Also, the pricing is affordable and the service exceptional. By far my favorite venue just for the music alone (CTS fans???). Go there, drink, eat, sing and be merry!! Love it!

I was in Albany for a concert at the Palace Theater and I stopped by The Hollow Bar afterward for a bite to eat because their menu online looked excellent. There is a band playing and the guy at the door collecting money tells me it's a $10 cover. I say okay, mostly I just wanted to get something to eat. He looks at the time and tells me the kitchen is closed. This is a Friday night, and it is 11:51PM. Their website states, "BAR + KITCHEN HOURS - Monday-Friday: 11:30AM til late". 11:51PM is not "late" on a Friday night, especially when there is a sold-out concert (capacity of 2,844) just down the street, which you might see business from after the concert lets out. I left and got a bite at a McDonald's.

Poor/Rude Service Stopped in tonight (5/4/18) after the Little Steven show at The Palace for a quick bite to eat. Ordered a Standard Burger with Provolone cheese. The guy tending bar (tall, glasses, short hair) was attentive at first... until I requested water to drink with my meal. Was gonna leave him 10 bux at first, as the kitchen was about to close when I arrived. I worked in the service industry for years, so I try not to be ‘that guy.’ When I finished my meal, the establishment was not very busy. The gentleman tending the bar could plainly see that I was done, and awaiting the check, as I had begun tapping my credit card on the bar and looking around impatiently, due to his lack of attentiveness. Heck, I couldn't even get his attention to bring me napkins (try eating a burger without napkins; it gets messy) Instead, he made small talk with a patron at the other end of the bar, occasionally looking in my direction, intentionally keeping me waiting. He must have thought I would be a lousy tipper, based solely on my order and choice of beverage. I wound up waiting over 10 minutes for him to deliver my check while he casually chatted with the patron at the other end of the bar. From my years working in the service industry, I have learned that The Cardinal Rule is that the best tips often come from patrons whom you least expect it from. Although he rightfully deserved $0.00, I wound up tipping him over 35%. I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction that his misguided assumptions about me were ‘right.’ Enjoy your night, Nick. I pity you. I will never patronize this establishment again, based upon your flip behavior and poor attitude. Ownership/management: I hope you take this review from a seasoned, former service industry employee seriously. Such a shame that Nick’s disrespectful behavior towards me resulted in a poor review for your establishment, for all to see
