I arrived early for Sunday dinner and found the lovely restaurant empty for the moment. Sasha, wife and partner of Rudi, kept me in conversation as I ordered and learned more about Albany's little Little Italy. The two met in Manhattan in the eighties and saved for years to buy and renovate this old building in Albany where the two have conducted business since the turn of the century. I found my dinner, Filet of Sole, delightful, accompanied by a fresh salad and pasta. Take a moment to look in the kitchen window. You might see Rudi preparing a dish at the range as Sasha mixes up a salad. I'm sorry I failed to capture that moment with a picture.

Fantastic meal. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. Bread was warm and fresh with garlic oil to dip. Meals were fantastic. I highly recommend the Penne with vodka sauce. Would certainly go back.
