Traditions Eatery & Catering in Lawrence. Dinner (Sunday night). The Central Avenue: Hot fatty pastrami, chopped liver, Cole slaw, red onion and Russian Dressing. Mouth watering good, especially if you love chopped liver. The French fries very crispy and delicious, and (from what I was told) the pastrami sandwich one rye is delicious. Open late, great friendly and quick service.

They make the best corned beef. I should stop there because, really, what else matters....but they do have other great qualities. This place is a classic old restaurant, slaw and pickles on the table, great big menu (think Mr. Broadway. I have found the food always amazing. If you come in middle.of the afternoon and you want sit down service you may have to flagdown am employee and tell them but that's really not a big deal. They get 5 stars for thier ambiance, great food, consistency and being exactly who they are....not a highfalutin Steakhouse but a great restaurant.

Great service everytime. Beware however, Sunday nights are busy with many large groups over four - so lock in that reservation you will need it. The house steak ($40) was a pleasant surprise. And the baked sweet potato was just what little Irving needed.

It's been a couple of years. The food is still of good quality. I was surprised the dining room was so full on a Tuesday night. Then again, it usually is.

I come here to attend a monthly women’s shiur, eat great food and enjoy good conversation. I always get the vegetable soup, chef salad with turkey and roast beef and sweet potato “fries” better than anywhere else.
