The building and grounds are beautiful, even in the winter. Staff was very attentive and kind, but my food was just bad. My veal was overcooked, miscolored and was very tough. Appetizers we're good and the wine was good too, but when you spend $100 on an evening out you expect the entree to be edible. Out of six of us, two of our entrees were not eaten, but for a few bites. Maybe an off night for them but I likely won't be back because of the value.

Year round dining on the Patio enjoying a summer breeze or by the Fire during the Christmas Season with all the wonderful decorations, this is a delightful restaurant. The German influence is very apparent. Chopped Chicken Liver Pate, Southwestern Crab Cakes, Escargot, and Marinated Herring appitzers. Wiener Schnitzel, Stuffed Lemon Sole with Crabmeat, Mushroom topped Fillet Mignon and Sauerbraten. The menu is large and the dishes are expertly prepared. A good wine list, reasonably priced and excellent service. What better way to spend an evening.

Private events are very well done. I have been to a few. Christmas decorations are a must see. Food is good and staff is friendly. Prices are a little on the upside.

Travelers Rest never fails to excel! Holiday dinner was a success thanks to the delicious food, excellent service, great ambiance, and the beautiful garden all decked out for Christmas. This German restaurant has a menu with something for everyone.

Excellent service , quiet ambiance, even on a snowy very cold night we had a window seat but outdoors with their lightings in their garden looked attractive & appealing to look at. Will return. Our dinner for 3 was $165- very appropriate for the Service & food.
