Best food I have had in a restaurant! The setting is lovely! The staff is so friendly! And the setup is nice with enough room between tables that you feel some privacy! My only caveat is the dessert want quite as good as the rest of the meal. That being said it was still way better than most restaurants. The appetizers and main course was just that great.

One of the most beautiful restaurants we have ever dined in. This is the third reincarnation in our 25 year history at this location. The interior has been warmly redone and is very comfortable. The current menu is limited but will expand as the seasons change and doesn't explain their dishes ingredients leaving me at a loss for words. We started with a Baby Clams and Lobster Meat, Small Sausage slices and Fingerling Potatoes all in an incredible Brown Sauce. Outrageous! A Roasted Bone-in Chicken with Pureed Carrots and Swiss Chard was prepared simply and was wonderful. Roasted Boneless Duck was done well on the outside and moist and tasty and came with Roasted Sweet Potato slices, Green Beans that were almost crunchy and Cranberries, just wonderful. We shared an Apple Brandy Crisp, also outstanding. As always a good Pinot Grigio finished off the meal .Our server, Adam, was incredibly attentive, as was the entire staff. Ray, the Restaurant Manager, told us that as the seasons change they intend to use the 27 acre property for Alfresco dining and will be adding a Tapas menu. We can't wait. You've gotta eat here.

Cozy Victorian ambiance, perfect for tasteful holiday celebrations. Beautiful decor and a variety of rooms for a specific mood. Spectacular views of Hudson River, tranquil surroundings. Warm and welcoming staff and management. Delicious food!

Bartender of Monteverde's staff was infected with Hep-A while tending bar at our wedding. We were on day 1 of our honeymoon 4 days after our wedding, when we received a message from a FRIEND notifying us of the news that had been on TV. Naturally, we were embarrassed that our wedding exposed our closest friends, family and loved ones to a potentially deadly virus. We were most disappointed that no one from Monteverde had the ethical courtesy to notify us. We spent the first 4 days of our honeymoon attempting to reach all of our guests, to inform them what vaccinations were required from their specific states (over a dozen different states) health departments vaccination requirements. We thought that Monteverde would uphold the prestigious reputation that their expense $$$$ would be justified with professionalism. Instead, we experienced the "gotchya" type service from them. After our checks were cashed, they acted as if we were ghosts. Ignoring our phone calls and emails for days while we were on our honeymoon. The lack of professionalism, morality and empathy in Monteverde's reaction to the situation leaves us feeling that they simply don't care about their clients, and only their clients money. If you decide to book your wedding here be warned of being misled into lies and excuses from all Monteverde staff members. Issues we encountered on our wedding day at Monteverde include No Air Conditioning in the mansion (broken from a previous wedding and not repaired in time for ours) Monteverde staff arrived late Grounds not landscaped prior to our arrival Insufficient power supply in tent Rooms locked by staff with guests belongings left in them and again most importantly! Failure to notify any points of contact for our wedding held at Monteverde at Oldstone of the potential risk for Hep-A infection from beverages served by Bartender employed by Monteverde at Oldstone inside the mansion restaurant bar. Do NOT book your wedding here. There are plenty of other venues along the Hudson that will treat you and your guests with courtesy and respect. If you like being lied to and receiving poor service then this is your place.

My fiancée and I had an incredible dining experience, from the manager taking our coats when we walked in to our server wishing us a great night before we left. The quality of the food is exquisite and the service is unmatched. I took my fiancé here on a whim and it really payed off. If you’re looking to treat a special someone to a great meal, look no further. The only people I don’t recommend this to are people who are short for time (my fiancé and I got an entree and dessert and we were there for an hour and forty-five minutes) and people who want an American sized meal (portions are small, but it was just enough for the two of us). While the portions are small, they also brought us biscuits and the the flavor and plating of the food makes up for the price. If you can set a few hours aside and want to have a wonderful dining experience, we highly recommend Monteverde at Oldstone. 10/10 for food and service.
