Harbor Inn is one of the best seafood restaurants in the triad area. We drive from Greensboro to Burlington just to eat there, and we've been doing so for years. It has a down-home casual atmosphere with very efficient and attentive servers. The food--well you need to try it for yourself like the hundreds of other repeat customers they have. When you order shrimp do you usually get tiny mounds of batter with a hint of shrimp? Not at Harbor Inn! They serve fat bite-sized shrimp with minimal breading, which means they turn out perfectly with no greasy taste or texture. If you order a lunch special for $8.99 you get a platter piled high with food, just as you would at dinner time. There's no skimpy portions at Harbor Inn. The prices are more than reasonable in comparison to lower quality seafood restaurants. Just watch out if you go on a Friday or Saturday night-- the line will be looong. I warned you!

Tough to find good seafood in this area and unfortunately we cannot recommend this place. Broiled combo tasted water logged and seemed to be only dusted with paprika (or something red). Fried combo was slightly better but nothing great. Service was fine and server was very nice. The search continues.

Best seafood in Burlington!! I drive here from Raleigh. Speaking as a native of the NC coast, this place has very comparable fresh, lightly-battered seafood. The portion sizes are excellent. Make sure you get a sweet tea to accompany your meal.

Specialty is "Calabash style" seafood. Lightly battered and deep fried. The combination plate/platter is like a quick trip to the coast. The Calabash shrimp special (salad sized shrimp battered and lightly fried) is the most ordered menu item. Shrimp, fries or baked potato, hush puppies and slaw. Good food. Good prices. Home town, not a chain atmosphere.

I grew up with harbor inn and we still go here for the fried dishes. Have plenty of patience when the weekend comes because the wait is long. Service staff is good. Nice ppl. Nice cleanup crew. Never had an issue with food being wrong or nasty.
