I recently made a reservation for a birthday celebration and expected the details to be well covered as I confirmed on the day of, with assurances that the menu would be printed acknowledging the birthday of my family member, and that our table would be ready upon arrival. Disappointingly there was no table available to us when we arrived, and the menu was not printed with the birthday wishes discussed and promised upon making the reservation and thereafter, confirming. In fact, the hostess acted as if she was surprised and confused about the reservation for 3 when we showed up. When I returned to the hostess station once finally being seated to make the staff aware of the oversight in printing the menus as promised and expected, they were apathetic and clearly uninterested, offering an empty promise that the manager was in the back correcting the mistake, and would be bringing updated menus to the table with the birthday wishes printed. Of course, several minutes later, no updated menus, manager, or any other staff arrived and no offer apology was extended. After a mediocre dining experience and yet another extended wait for our server to finally return with our check, we finally left the restaurant without any level of service and feeling quite deflated rather than celebratory. I offer one star as the valet was the most pleasant part of the evening. The one star is for that experience only. For the lackluster level of service and the price, I'd rather not return and do not recommend this establishment / location to anyone seeking a great dining / celebratory experience. To be clear, while it may be perceived as an upscale dining experience, it definitely acts and feels exactly as you would expect from an average chain restaurant. Save your money, your plans for special memories, and your time, and go elsewhere.

On a whim today we decided to stop here for an early dinner. I was in town to visit my niece a UNC student for her birthday. We were seated promptly and given menus. After 15 minutes the hostess realized we had not been greeted by a server. We were brought water by another server who told us Brad would be with us shortly. After a few minutes that same server came over and introduced himself as Trent saying that he would be our server since he knows we have been waiting a while and he wanted to help. He apologized for Brad not showing up and hoped that it did not ruin our experience. We were taken well care of by Trent, he acted professionally and he truly made our dining experience perfect. Food was wonderful and the chocolate molten cake for my nieces birthday was a show stopper! I want to thank Trent for a great dining experience.

I just had the WORST experience at this restaurant in my ENTIRE life. I lm a General Manager of one of the largest hotel chains in the world and this experience made it me never want to go back ever again. I ordered shrimp and Grits and I said no pork because I don’t eat it. I got my plate and it came with sausage. The manager came out and asked me to remake it or bring me out some grits (mistake #1). When my grits came out I was left to transfer my shrimp to the new little bowl of grits I received (mistake #2). After expressing my concerns to the manager she tried to make it right but I was too far done with this experience! I manage a hotel and I eat here ALL the time, which I told the manager. This was the worst $70 for lunch I ever spent in my life! Thanks for ruining what I thought was my favorite restaurant in Charlotte.

Found this place online looking for an upscale seafood restaurant for birthday celebration. I did reservation online via open Table for 6:30 pm the next day and received a confirmation email. The next day at 5pm i get an email saying I was a no show for the reservation. I immediately called restaurant and somehow the system had a 4pm reservation even though my confirmation email showed 6:30pm. This was quickly resolved. And I reminded them that this was a birthday celebration. Got there seated and everything gradually went down hill. The restaurant is not kid friendly - just 1-2 items for kids on the menu, no kid size silverware. The service was so slow and it took forever for anything to come out despite the fact that the restaurant was 40-50% capacity. Drinks were not good, food came out cold. Food taste was mediocre. Waiter was not friendly nor apologetic about anything and only showed up every so often to check on the table. My guest was not wished a happy birthday at anytime during the dinner nor anything else to feel a bit special. And I did tell the waiter it was a birthday celebration when we sat down. For an upscale restaurant it was a very disappointing experience. I doubt I will be returning to this business.

I went with a family and overall atmosphere was great. McCormick & Schmick's seafood & steaks dinning area was too dark which is their natural ambiance. I recommend more lighting for a safety.
