Absolutely. Love. This. Place! Anytime I am in the Uptown area, I walk over to Mert's. I have never had anything bad here or bad service. The Soul Rolls are my go to for a quick lunch or appetizer. They are so flavorful! The jerk seasoning for the BBQ is a great complement. Small, cozy cafe with a small, but wide range menu. Country comfort foods, a taste of the bayou and some seafood. They also give you the softest, semi-sweet corn bread with sweet cream butter. Mm mm good!

We ate there for brunch on a Sunday. Overall, our party of five adults and one child enjoyed the experience. Casual atmosphere. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Meals included fried whiting, BBQ ribs and spinach omelette with sides (home fries, cabbage, black eyed peas, Mac/cheese, collards greens) and choice of biscuit or cornbread. Portions were more than sufficient, but some dishes were not well seasoned. Specifically, the home fries and omelette. There was an issue with one order but it was quickly resolved and the meal complimentary due to the inconvenience. Validated parking is available in the Holiday Inn garage.

A must try if you're in Charlotte. My boyfriend and I went here on a whim for lunch and we're not disappointed. There service was great, the portions are hearty and the food is so very good. I had the fried catfish with collards and Mac and cheese. So good! All the dishes come with cornbread as well that is deliciously sweet!

I give it 3 stars. The food was pretty good. Definitely over priced. We ordered unlimited mimosas for17.00. Our waiter did a great job on the first ones. After that they were slack. I told the manager and she said that’s their guidelines on drinks...pouring one third of the glass and the rest orange juice. But then I see a waitress come up and fill 5 glasses half full of champagne not one third like we got. I can go to another establishment and get more with a less price. We won’t be back.

Delicious food and amazing service! We had a group of over 20 and our server was incredible. I had a veggie plate with macaroni and cheese, potato salad, green beans, and yams. The macaroni and cheese was my favorite but it was all so good. I’m already planning to come back (and need to plan ahead so I have room for dessert because they look amazing)!
