Cox Family Restaurant was a wonderful dining experience. We ate their for dinner and breakfast during our one week vacation in Atlantic Beach. Service was fast and friendly. Coffee was hot and fresh and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat. It is not a fancy place but was perfect for our family.

Food was good and prices were very reasonable. I will not return however because of their service. I went with a party of 6, the waitress was very pleasant and did a great job. She writes all the food on one ticket and you pay at the register. After you pay the cashier crosses off what has been paid for. I was the last one to pay and there was food that had not been paid for so the cashier added it to my bill. It wasn't much but I told her I didn't order that food and she snapped back at me that I had to pay for it. The rest of my party had left - it was friends and we all met there - so I was stuck paying for their food. I didn't mind that so much paying for the food as I did the cashier's attitude toward me. She didn't even try to be kind or hear me out. The customer definitely did not come first in this instance.

Food is awesome. Great price and great service. Take the fancy out and you get good cook to order food at a great price. If your kids don't like seafood they have food items to fill the little bellies.

We recently started eating here again. We discontinued our patronage a couple of years ago because the food had gone down hill. At one time, this was our "go to" place for good, home cooked style, comfort food. It was one of the first places we'd recommend to anyone visiting from out of town. After the last few visits, it looks as if this place has finally redeemed itself. The Cox family once again has our business. The service still needs to be tweaked a little. It has been a little slow during our recent visits. Some of the waitresses get a little chatty with some of their regulars & leave the other tables waiting a little too long. One day during a late lunch, a couple of the wait staff kept walking by us, refilling drinks, asking about desserts, & chit chatting. It took almost 15 min of this (and me almost walking out) before anyone came by & asked us what we wanted to drink. We then watched other folks who were seated after us receive their food before ours. We & they had all ordered from the lunch specials. I'm giving 4 stars because the quality of food has been brought back. Tighten up the service and you might get the extra star.

Another mom and pop Small Town Restaurant. The service was awesome! The food was about average. But if you want to give your money to the local place instead of the chains then I definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast. The menu is a bit more fairly priced than some of the other local mom and pop breakfast joints in the area. And the service is definitely much better!
