This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Great food. Great service. Very nice decor and very clean. However it seems like in the evening, the kitchen seems to care less about the food. Brussel sprouts, at lunch are amazing. At night, burnt and dry. Still had a good time. I would recommend Hickory Tavern for lunch.

This place was dead in the middle of lunch time. My husband and I took our chances. I wish we hadn't because my shrimp and grits looked like the grits had been cooked over two days prior and just microwaved. The shrimp were probably the only thing really cooked that day. Shrimp and grits are supposed to have a little bit of a broth; well this broth was a ring of grease from the excessive cheddar cheese mound that was used to cover up the old grits. They probably spent more on garnish than the whole dish is worth. Our server was very sweet but I just think the cook has given up.

We waited for several minutes to be acknowledge while we stood waiting at the hostess station. Two employees stood staring at us having a conversation before they broke apart and one of them finally offered to seat us. The food was mediocre the service was about the same. A B&B burger and a grilled teriyaki chicken sandwich, 2 Diet Cokes and an order of salsa and chips all for $33. The waitress didn't even notice that we were sitting with empty drinks for 15 minutes. I got up to go fill my own and that's when she finally realized. It's been 9 years since I've been there. I don't think I'll go back in another nine years.
