We came on Mother’s Day and it wasn’t very busy. They sat two parties ahead of us despite us not being a very large party. Once we were seated it took about 20 minutes for our waitress to come over, she took our drink and appetizer orders and proceeded to head to the back. It took us 15 minutes to receive our drinks and another 15 to receive our appetizer. She came back and took our food orders. We still had not received our appetizer at that time. After we got our appetizers we realized that both our crab dip and nachos were cold. We asked our waitress could we get our dip warmed up and also some more pita chips which she told us we would have to pay for. We finished our appetizers and waited for our food which came out 30 minutes after we had ordered it and it was also cold. Our tater tots had been dropped back in the grease and the only thing that was warm was our wings. We spoke to the manager and he said he would bring out fresh tots but again they had only been dropped back in the grease a second time. This is the worst experience I have ever had with hickory tavern, I don’t think I will be attending this hickory tavern for a long while.

Overall i really liked this place. Me and my girlfriend got the nachos and wings and they were awesome. Good service too. Would recommend to anyone.

Great meeting room. Very friendly service. Grilled pimento cheese sandwich was really good. Sweet potato fries needed salt. Overall, a very nice lunch.

Walked in and was not impressed by the loud music. Was seated promptly by a very nice young girl who spoke so lightly had to ask her several times what she was saying as I could not hear her. Waitress appeared promptly at our table to get our order. We ordered appetizer first of steamed oysters. After about 20 minutes, manager came over as he noticed we were still waiting and he apologized and went to check on them. He returned 5 minutes later with oysters. Mind you, all this time, we still have not seen our waitress. It is not busy by any means. After 40 more minutes of waiting on just burgers and low country boil and seeing no waitress, we decided we have had enough...husband calls manager over and tells him we are leaving and to bring check. He apologizes and says oysters are on the house...yep, that's about where they tasted like they came from...save your money and yourself a headache....go to the Smoke Pit instead!

Great food. Server could have paid a little more attention to the drinks being empty. But other than that it was a great time and experience. We were the wedding planning party.
