We are visiting from Wisconsin Rapids WI. First time to North Carolina and this was the greeting we were hoping for. Our waitress, Jamie Leigh was amazing! Her kindness shown through! Food was excellent! After traveling 15 hours, it was a relaxing atmosphere and all the staff was very friendly. Thank you for showing us the Southern charm.

We just had lunch at the Route 66 Diner. There is plenty of parking and the place is very clean. We had a short wait, maybe 10 minutes, and received an apology for the wait. The wait was very short, and we were seated after another party had decided not to wait. Jaime, our server, was awesome. She was very helpful, answered our questions, offered more coffee, and offered a bag for the box so as to not spill the food in the car. Between us, we ordered a patty melt with hot chips and shrimp and grits. Both meals were awesome. The patty melt was moist, flavorful, and not too greasy. The chips were crunchy and great. I’ll get the chips next time too. My better half got the shrimp and grits. The cheese and sauce was tasty. The shrimp and andouille was great. We will definitely be back. Jaime made our meal enjoyable, the food was awesome, and I look forward to trying other menu options.

The food is good and so is the service. I have eaten here several times and have never had a had meal. I ordered the meatloaf (the daily special with a meat and 2 veggies). It came out quickly and was very good. It was a good amount of food and wasn't very exspensive. They also offer home made deserts.

A good dining experience in spite of heavy traffic. On a busy Saturday afternoon with a line waiting, they found us a boot on a corner away from the crowd and were immediately attentive to our needs. The food was good, the service hospitable, and the environment amiable. In spite of the crowds, we were able to relax and enjoy our meal, which was tasty and very reasonably priced.

Not as good as we usually get. The food was good but service was slow. Not very crowded but took a long time to get our food and this was breakfast. My husband ordered his eggs over hard and got scrambled. Since he had a doctor's appointment he told waitress not to bother. She kept apologizing that they only had one cook and apparently only 2 servers until the time we left. Disappointed but we will try again to see if that was a one time issue or something that is ongoing.
