Took a road trip to Kitty Hawk from Virginia Beach to see Wright Brothers National Monument. We had our doubts on going because of the pouring rain. It turned out to be an adventure and Mama's Kwan's offered a refuge from the stormy weather. A friend had recommended Mama Kwan's because he had been there before when he was in town for vacation. He told me that he thought it was great that they served a drink in a ceramic parrot. I had to have one. It was only $13 for a tropical freeze mixed Malibu and rum with your choice of an assortment of different colored ceramic parrots. When it came time to eat, my friend informed me of the tasty & very popular fish tacos. I came to discover that the blackened fish tacos were out of this world. Would definitely come here after a day at the memorial or if you're ever in town. There were tons of people and the place was nearly packed to the walls! We actually had to wait 15 minutes for a place sit. But while we waited, we drank. With so many people, you could clearly tell that it was the place to be.

Pretty good! Cucumber salad, fries, and the marinated pork were the best things our party ordered. Everything else was solid, but fairly basic--the type of food you could easily prepare yourself. Drinks were almost exclusively rum-based (though many come in fun glasses you get to keep), along with a good selection of beer and wine. A good lively atmosphere with plenty of locals and good service to boot.

Food was wonderful, The atmosphere is charming! Our waitress was excellent! My only Feedback is that we ordered extra sauce and were charged for it. Please let the customers know there will be a charge when they ask for additional sauce.

My wife and I stopped by today for a bite to eat and a drink. I would like to say thank.you to Nicole for making us feel so welcomed. A quick stop turned into laughs and a good time. She was the best out of all the places we stopped on the island. The only review we took the time to make because we feel great service needs to be praised. Thank you again!!
