This is not your typical "authentic" tex mex joint that all have the same food and same menus. The food is fresh and well prepared. It feels more like high end dining but the location itself is low key. The freshly made guacamole is amazing. Our server was fantastic and made great recommendations. It's right on the lake and the weather was good. It was a great evening. The prices are good for the style of food they are serving. If you're looking for something different in Mexican cuisine this is the place.

One of the best Mexican Restaurants I have ever visited. This is a family owned and authentic Mexican restaurant. They have weekly specials that are entirely improvised. The quality of meat and other ingredients are superb. Service is focused and flexible. These are workers who care and respect their clients. The extra table-side Guacamole is the best I have ever experienced. Order it "extra spicy" for a fun treat! When you are done, thank these folks, they really are working their hearts out and loving you, the customer.

Love this place! Every time we visit Mooresville, we go here. Fresh food, great drinks, friendly staff! Beautiful view outside on the patio.

04/15:18 We came to Mooresville to visit family. Went out to the Prickly Pear to eat . We enter restaurant and empty inside a few families outside. Ask for table on the outside and said 10 minutes. Next family arrived and seated . That was fine figured they had reservations. 10 more minutes and people keep coming in and being waited on and seated. At that point my grandson was getting ill and hungry. They gave him a coloring paper but had no color crayons. The point of this is people that had been seated after us had chips being served and good. You figure first come first served .. Will never go back and we have spoke to family and friends here in Mooresville and they will not be returning.. If you have a restaurant you need to tell your patrons when they are waiting and not keeping them guessing. They had plenty of waiters working. They all had a bad attitude..

Prickly Pear is among my favorite restaurants. It is admittedly pricier than the typical Mexican restaurant, but the quality and their chef's tasty touches are well worth the couple extra dollars. It is also a great place for a date, with either their cozy dining room, or the evening sun setting over the lake out on their veranda. If you even like Mexican a little bit, you have to check out the Prickly Pear. "Betcha can't eat there just once."
