This is the best upscale restaurant in Sanford. The food is all good and the service couldn't be any better. It's the kind of restaurant that puts white paper on top of the white table cloth to ensure that you have a crisp new area to eat. We had the fried green bean appetizer That our waiter said was one of their most popular. It was very good. I had the special of the day, a wrap, and enjoyed every bite. The "chips" that came work it were in house made. Perfectly sliced and seasoned potatoes. The price of the food is reasonable and fair. The wait staff also seat the guest, so if you aren't immediately greeted as you enter, just give them a moment while you enjoy the pleseant atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

This is the best, upscale restaurant in Sanford. It is a great place to take a serious date. The food is wonderful and the menu changes, so you get to try new things every-so-often. It is located in a downtown setting that is nice and quiet. We like going here and then making a show at the Temple Theatre.

I came at lunch time. I ordered a specialty chicken burger that I don't recall the name of. It had "Sanford" in it's name. Anyhow, it was my first time. The hostess and my server were very helpful in assisting me in navigating their menu. I made the conclusion of my burger on my own and took my server's suggestion on the side of chips. Service was fairly quick and the atmosphere of the establishment was relaxing. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the size of my meal considering I'd paid $10 for it. I was surprised to find that nothing I received was served warm. Still, the presentation of the food on my plate was pleasing. Admittedly, my sandwich was a bit bland, but the chips were quite flavorful. The accompanying ranch dipping sauce paired very well with the chips. Conclusively, my first experience with Cafe 121 at lunch time didn't stand out much. I plan on returning to try out the restaurant's various offers and coffee selection. I expect that my opinion of Cafe 121 could change if I return at a different time or try a different selection. However, my first impression of Cafe 121 is that it is an average local restaurant with good staff.

Reviews of this place seemed strange and it was difficult to decide whether or not to visit here, so we did it anyway. Let's get the negative aspects out of the way. The decor is different depending on the wall you look at and the hostess was initially somewhat off-putting. The staff seemed insufficient for the capacity of the restaurant but it was a busy hour when we visited. We were warned that there would be a 15-20 minute wait before we'd be able to eat. Service was slower than your average chain restaurant, though I suspect it was because of the high customer volume. You really do have to visit to understand why the word "odd" fits a lot of the choices made here yet doesn't significantly detract from the overall experience. All of that can be forgiven because the staff warmed up as other tables cleared out and the food was quite good. Every entree on the weekend brunch menu was $10 which was a nice touch since price wasn't a deciding factor and we felt free to get whatever we wanted. By the time we left we were quite happy that we gave this restaurant a chance and we enjoyed everything we had, including the excellent coffee. You should definitely give this place a chance. It's going to be odd at the beginning of your first visit but unless you have an elevated sense of self-importance like the food reviewer episode of South Park, you'll be glad you came.

Well we went to eat there and the atmosphere was very uncomfortable. We didn’t feel as we were being served with the same energy the rest of the people in there were being served. Maybe it was because we were the only Hispanics in there. 🤷🏽‍♀️ And every white person near us was staring at us like if we were some animal or object on exhibition. Overall, the food was okay but I won’t be going back. (:
